Delta Utility Associates logo development.

25 Jul

Delta Utility Associates are public power utility consultants who provide financial advise, review business processes and educate public power utilities in renewable energy. Developed three directions for the client to choose from. The final version represents renewable and sustainable energy, a focus of most utility companies. The other 2 options were literal and subjective interpretations of the utility industry.

New event themes for Oregon Entrepreneurs Network.

29 Jun

Just got finished wrapping up 2 new event themes for Oregon Entrepreneurs Network ( OEN ), the first one is for the OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards held every year. The Awards honors the skill, and the courage, it takes for entrepreneurs to create a business out of an idea. They are intended to not only celebrate entrepreneurs, but to highlight their importance to the region’s economy. The  Awards are a highly competitive process and it is a significant achievement just to be named as a finalist. In honor of that, OEN not only produces a gala celebration focusing on excellence in entrepreneurship, but also presents awards to the winners that are true works of art. The OEN Entrepreneurship Awards were designed by the world-renown company Ziba Design, founded by local entrepreneur, Sohrab Vossoughi.

This year we played off of the enormity of the event by  incorporating the host OEN into the theme. We created such words as OENormous, OENtrepreneur, OENthusiasm, and OENjoyable. This idea lent itself to a fun lighthearted graphic sure to grab attention.

The second theme was for OEN’s Venture Northwest , an annual Portland-based conference that draws institutional investors and investment bankers from across the US and Western Canada, who are interested in early and growth stage companies. On November 3, 2011, plot your course to direction opportunity and hear from ten exciting Northwest companies. This years event will  include  business leaders from the NW who will talk about trends in social media and mobile computing, as well as hear why some leading venture firms are plotting their course to the Northwest to find real opportunities.

Central Willamette gets hands on.

2 Jul

Central Willamette Community Credit Union wanted to increase its brand awareness among young adults. The following series of short movie theater ads were created and produced to do just that. Each ad, illustrated by me and written by Shawna Harch, was developed to engage the audience and fit within the credit union’s existing tagline. We kept the main messages succinct, relevant and slightly humorous. The style captures a casual and inviting feel. Studio Bard and @Large Films were great in assisting with music and production.

Ready. Set. Sit.

28 May

A few months ago I was introduced to a small start-up company that had very little money and an extremely cool product – a line of furniture that can be put together and taken apart without the use of any tools. My job was to create a brand identity (name and logo) that spoke to the product’s functionality and inventiveness. Below you’ll see the directions I explored and the different applications of the final identity.

I was sorting through some old archives and came across an old bus back campaign I did for Alpenrose Dairy a few years ago. The campaign and characters were so popular that the client decided to turn the characters into  toys and ornaments.

Although the client opted for a different direction, I wanted to share an idea I thought was strategic and creative.

This was a bus shelter concept presented a while back that found its way to the chopping block. I’ve resurrected it for the purposes of my book and still hope that eventually it will see the light of day.

Pivot Architecture Announcement

26 Mar

Pivot wanted a fun and clever way to announce that two of there employees were being promoted to partner. The firm already had 5 senior people so we wanted to some how demonstrate that they were being added to the group. The concept “The changing face of Pivot” brought us to creating a flip book. The announcement was a huge success and reaffirmed the companies position as a fun, creative company.
